Well summarised Snākī. Bishop is a genuinely nasty piece of work, and a bit of Atlas Network presented as a genuine kiwi. I love the way Kieran dismantles him every time they meet
Love it. Kieran is just a master at taking Bish down every time. Really looking like a stunned mullet at the end, our next Prime Minister, just about as good as FIGJAM.
I’m surprised they didn’t deploy Crusher to the Ukrainian frontline. One arched eyebrow and the Russians would have retreated 10 kilometres!
You’ve got to enjoy Kieran’s quick wit. Even some of my Wairarapa conservative rural friends speak highly of him. Here’s hoping he pulls off a strong campaign for Labour.
Meanwhile, tomorrow is the final day of voting in the Tāmaki Makaurau by-election. Turnout is likely to be low, but the result will be fascinating to dissect in the coming days, especially for what it might signal about the 2026 General Election and the chances of two of the three current opposition parties forming a coalition and working together.
In particular, the forcefulness of Willie Jackson and others speaking out about Tākuta Ferris’ social media post, followed quickly by a Te Pāti Māori leadership apology, was Crusher-eyebrow-worthy. To me, it looked like a clear signal from Labour that they won’t tolerate that sort of thing from a potential junior coalition partner, and a tacit agreement by Te Pāti Māori leadership to lower the volume a notch or two. It’s as if they’re trying to interdict any right-wing attack supply lines ahead of the next election.
👍 Great video clip - go Kieran 💪 As discussed elsewhere, Luxon has to serve a certain amount of time for the maximum residual after-job "perks", and being the greedy FIGJAM he is, pretty sure he won't go before then ⁉️ As for who will be next in line - they're all horrible but unfortunately better at talking than FIGJAM so a bigger threat to the Opposition perhaps 🤷
Don’t quote me, but I think you need to be PM for two years to get the full retirement benefits. So Hooton’s timing that caucus tells Luxon in the next couple of weeks he’ll retire quietly (for “personal reasons,” of course) by Christmas could still see him get his entitled entitlements.
It might even give time to slip Luxon onto the New Year Honours list if he needs a knighthood on the way out. And have they found a replacement for Mallard as Irish Ambassador yet? I’m sure Luxon, being the master negotiator he is, could negotiate that.
Perfect. The next National clown is ready to roll up, roll up…and you’ve nailed the music MT. Bishop isn’t much good under pressure either, so that will fun to watch. It doesn’t take much for his Atlas programming to break free and it won’t be long before he blows a hole straight through his own size 50 clown shoes. Queue that music again. In Australia, we would call Bishop a try hard dork. Seriously, the fact that Bishop is even in the running for being the nation’s PM is just sad.

You can feel the genuine laughter through the screen versus Bishop’s rigid act - I do enjoy this clip

Thanks for making my day. Great snarking, Snark!

Just splitter-laughed at your Collins comment.

Agree
Did Bishop take lessons on how not to appear sincere?...he does it well!
Loved that video clip.
