Chris Bishop Doesn't Even Trust Chris Bishop

Laughter all round as Luxon leadership rumours accelerate

This morning Matthew Hooton was again putting the boot into Luxon, predicting the PM’s imminent leadership demise

Most likely, Luxon will be offered the option of staging his own departure and explanation. “Christopher,” the delegation will say, “there’s still time for a managed exit”. Luxon having no caucus support makes such generosity possible since there’s no risk he could pull a Houdini.

National MPs apparently, finally realise that “there’s no winning next year under Luxon.”

Jesus, folks, talk about being slow eh?

It was obvious last year - “Au Revoir”. - but if National MPs needed the inevitable anti-rock star economy results and polls to keep informing them, so be it (doesn’t say a lot for their judgement though?!)

Hooton, reportedly an early Erica Stanford backer, writes some other incredulous revelations:

Whatever respect Peters or Seymour previously had for Luxon has been steadily evaporating.

Surely Hooton must remember that David Seymour has been undermining Luxon for well over a year already.

Remember at Waitangi Day 2024, when Seymour mocked Luxon for being “nervous”, and sending out ACT newsletters calling Luxon part of the weak “elite”?

Yes that’s been going on for a long time.

Anyway, Hooton backs the two I bet on last October too - when I said “Au Revoir” to Luxon: Erica Stanford or Chris Bishop.

It’s been very obvious for well over a year that Bishop has been positioning himself only with positive news stories, and hiding from the worst - despite his nefarious shadowed hand behind most of the corruption on Fast-Track etc..

Stanford was a darling of the business community but didn’t stand up well to scrutiny after it emerged she’s an “anti-decolonialisation” fan who wants AI to replace critical teachers’ functions.

I mused the other day that she’s faded out of the spotlight recently to keep her image as pristine as possible. While Bishop has again tried to emerge out of the shadows by pretending that he’s in any way a respectable man and political leader - remember folks, popular policies done by a hollow, corrupt, dishonest individual is nothing good at all.

Choices, choices, choices abound.
